Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive Japanese energy healing technique that works with your body's natural life force to release stress, restore balance, and support healing on every level. It does not require you to believe in anything specific, change anything about yourself, or do anything at all. You simply receive.
Carole Fontaine has been practicing Reiki since 2006 as a certified Reiki Master Teacher of the Usui Ryoho Method. She weaves Reiki into her broader wellness work and offers it as a standalone healing modality, both as private distance sessions and as certification training for those called to learn.

Reiki Certification Training
Reiki is a learnable skill. The Usui Ryoho tradition is structured across three levels, each building on the last, culminating in full Reiki Master certification. Carole teaches all three levels as one-day intensive trainings, combining history, theory, hands-on practice, and attunement.
Each level is offered as a small-group intensive. Space is intentionally limited.
Reiki Level 1 · Practitioner Certification
Reiki Level 1 is your entry point into this ancient healing lineage. You will learn the foundations of Reiki history and practice, the 12 hand positions for healing yourself and others, basic energy scanning techniques, and receive your Level 1 attunement, the energetic initiation that activates your ability to channel Reiki.
By the end of this one-day intensive, you are a certified Reiki practitioner, able to offer sessions to yourself, family, and friends.

Reiki Level 2 · Advanced Practice Certification
Level 2 deepens your practice and expands your reach. You will learn the three core Reiki symbols, how to invoke and channel them, and how to offer long-distance healing to others across any distance. This is the level at which many practitioners begin offering professional sessions.

Reiki Master Level 3 · Master Teacher Certification
Level 3 is the final step in the Usui tradition. You will learn the Master symbols, how to give attunements at all three levels, how to teach and certify others, and how to build Reiki into a healing practice or business. This is the level Carole holds.

Reiki has been shown in multiple peer‑reviewed studies to support reductions in stress, anxiety, and pain, while promoting relaxation, emotional regulation, and improved sleep. Research published in journals such as Journal of Evidence‑Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine and Frontiers in Psychology has found that Reiki can activate the body’s relaxation response, help regulate the nervous system, and improve overall wellbeing.
Reiki is also used as a complementary therapy in many hospitals across the United States, including major centers such as Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center, where it is offered to support patients during cancer treatment, surgery recovery, and times of emotional distress.
